 In my series of important questions …shall I go or shall I stay I will tell you my small experience which I had with Vallee Bleue. Does the name ring a bell?

The Good and The Bad Things About Visiting Vallee Bleue

Well, I was recommended to visit Valley Bleue if I want to do a short trip from Lyon. I have put it on my List of Places to Visit which is now much bigger than the one I published here. And when the very hot Sunday arrived in Lyon I decided to go to Vallee Bleue.  Not checking the details well, being prepared for 33 not 40 degrees, feeling a bit lazy yet I motivated to explore Lyon surroundings. I put Montalieu-Vercieu (which is the town of Vallee Bleue, and the smallest town I have visited recently in France) in GPS and left to discover new place from Lyon…So now I can tell you what I liked, what I  didn’t like, what I have learned… and you can decide yourself if Vallee Bleue is a place for you.

The Good Things About Visiting Vallee Bleue:

  • it’s only 40 mins away from Lyon

  • it has many activities for you to do: water sport,  cycling, walking etc. For all things to do in Vallee Bleue just check here here
  • it has an aqua park with swimming pool and slides
  • it’s ideal for picnic and portable BBQ

  • it’s good for the family day out as you can see here, it’s recommended by family
  • it can be good for couples as well: bikes,  picnic, cocktails at the bars
  • you can try there Fly Board Prod Jet. Do you know what it is? Well check here, it’s pretty awesome

  • it has artisanal ice cream and you really feel like you want ice cream when you next to the water

The Bad Things About Visiting Vallee Bleue:

  • it’s quite actually it’s very small
  • it can get very crowded. I had a chance to see…
  • it has just 2 restaurants and one I visited was very nice
  • you might queue to get to the aqua park

  • you might not appreciate the swimming pool if it’s too crowded
  • it’s not good for you if you want privacy as everything is just next to each other

The Learnings so My Tips When Visiting Vallee Bleue:

  • if you want to be sure of a place to eat at restaurants, you need to book!
  • take swimming suit, blanket, something read etc.,  so you can enjoy relaxing time next the o lake

  • if you like picnics, don’t forget to bring it with you
  • get yourself an ice cream, it’s an obligatory ūüėČ when you near the water and when its so hot

  • watch out for heatwave in France because when you get to Vallee Bleue the parking and aqua park will be crowded and you won’t have energy for other activities as it’s too hot
