All of those dishes look so yummy! Many of them are very similar or virtually the same as some Czech foods I make for my Czech hubby. I posted a recipe with pictures of the Czech style Strawberry or Prune Plum dumplings. My mother-in-law made them with a Farmer Cheese dough and then topped the cooked yummy buggers with more Farmer’s Cheese, butter, and confectioner’s sugar.

There is a Polish food shop only about 15 mins from my home. We often buy lots of goodies from there.

Today I posted about my trip to Poland to teach English during a university summer break. I mentioned how much I loved the food my Polish friends’ mothers fed me. My favorite dish was this wonderful aspic type dish with chopped meat, veggies, some pickles or pickle flavor. I want to figure out how to make that some day. I have an aspic mould.

Dear Gabrila, thank you so much for your lovely feedback. I am not a soup fan but I used to love Zurek made by my Grandma...I am feeling very sentimental now ;-) Anyway, so far I havent found any Polish restaurant or shop in Lyon. There are some little international sections in supermarkets but very poor, You will not find there anything useful. There is a Polish church and kind of community in Lyon. I have seen a truck selling real Polish food after the mass on Sunday so I guess you can find some unusual Polish items there. Good luck and let me know if you need anything else. Welcome to Lyon! I am sure you will love it here. Give me a shout if you fanncy a coffee in the center.

Amazing list, I would personally add Zurek, Barszcz i Chlodnik, as they were always a treat for everyone at home! I would love to know if there's a polish restaurant or store in Lyon.
We recently moved to Lyon from Canada and haven't found where to find unusual items, such as mąka ziemniakowa, mak or cheese for sernik! Any recommendations?
