Well, for me it has already started long time ago and this is what I love about Lyon – the weather. Well, you could complain that it changed and the winter become colder and the summer is too hot but wait a minute…look into the Lyon’s sky and you understand all. It is the most beautiful blue sky you can wish for! Look into the Lyon’s parks and streets to see how green and colorful the city is thanks to the green spots and beautiful flowers and trees which are blossoming all spring and summer. Nuits de FouviereNights of Fourvière – From rock through folk to pop French songs, from recitals to symphonic concerts, mixing headliners with new discoveries. Theater, music, dance, opera, circus … The Nuits de Fourvière are devoted to the performing arts and since 1946 have been trying to coexist the disciplines. Each summer, the festival presents nearly 60 performances for more than 130,000 spectators. Street art course at the Museum Guignol de Brindas – Julien de Casabianca is a visual artist and a filmmaker. He seized the collection of the Guignol Theater Museum to give a second life to the puppets, they are installed in 10 places of the town and a guidebook is available at the Guignol Theater Museum. Usage autorisé – The exhibition of Guy Poirat’s art designed for the library of the 1st: halfway between sculpture and painting, plus the photography that he turns to make a surface of expression. Using metal, color, photo, collages and a whole mix of materials, he parodies the production of the industrial machines era. Guy Poirat was born in Montreal, has lived and worked in Lyon for more than 20 years. Defining himself as an “explorer of matter, through drawing” Guy Poirat continues and continues to refine this work of re-creation and transformation that will certainly lead him to experiment with other ways to express his dreams and fantasy. Randonnée Générations Roller – Exciting tour of the Lyon area on roller-skates, 2 laps (1hr for beginners + 2hrs for experienced skaters). Max. 200 people. Exhibition From Earth to the Stars – This interactive exhibition offers the opportunity for the curious public to learn more about these men who explore the stars, on these satellites and rockets that take off from the Earth in the direction of space, while participating in various scientific and fun activities. There are the three thematic areas: Man in space (Experience the everyday life of astronauts like Thomas Pesquet and discover manned flight missions through true cult space objects); Launchers ( From Soyuz to Ariane V, discover the launchers who made their mark); Satellites (Discover the extraordinary performances of the satellites, from their conception to their setting in orbit). Photographic walks “Portraits of the city” – In 2018, Lyon celebrates the 20th anniversary of the inscription of the historic site of Lyon as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, for its character and universal value. On this occasion, take part in the photographic walks: take a walk, photograph and exhibit!. Your image may be chosen for the exhibition place Antonin Poncet!There will be 14 dates of walks will be proposed from April 8 to July 8 around 4 major themes of inspiration: In the intimacy of the river; Origins of a confluence; The city challenges the river; The city between 2 hills. Jazz à Vienne – For the 38th edition Viennen celebrates the richness of Jazz music at the beginning of summer, continuing to mix genres, styles and generations. Each year, more than 200,000 festival-goers come to meet the 1,000 artists performing on all four stages. The Antique Theater, built in the 1st century, is the emblematic place of Jazz in Vienna. Its unique acoustics and history imprint provide an exceptional setting for the public and internationally renowned artists who perform there. Gregory Porter & the Lyon National Orchestra – Totally unknown to the general public eight years ago, the singer Gregory Porter quickly conquered America, then Europe, in the fall of 2010 with 1960 What ?, a protest song of more than nine minutes. Bastille Day – the French National Day, which is celebrated on the 14th of July each year. La Fête nationale is the anniversary of Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789 which was a turning point of the French Revolution well as the Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790. Celebrations are held throughout France. The oldest and largest regular military parade in Europe is held on the morning of 14 July, on the Champs-Élysées in Paris in front of the President of the Republic, along with other French officials and foreign guests. Andy Warhol Ephemera – The Andy Warhol Ephemera exhibition presents the graphic, advertising, commercial and private works of Andy Warhol. These documents come from the rich collection of Montreal’s Paul Maréchal, curator of the collection of the Power Corporation of Canada, professor at UQAM (University of Quebec in Montreal), lecturer and author of four catalogs on Warhol. Touaregs – This exhibition of the Tuaregs who are the nomads, the skilled craftspeople who produce geometric and contemporary jewelry, the poets and artists with a lively, beautiful culture that is constantly evolving. So this expo shows their lifestyle illustrated with their poetry and music. There are 280 objects exhibited, from watercolors to archival documents, adverts, posters and comics. There are also many everyday tools and symbolic objects (such as weapons and saddles), as well as jewelry and amulets, leather goods and textiles. The exhibition ends with photographs taken by journalist Arnaud Contreras. Adel Abdessemed: The antidote – On two floors of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lyon, Adel Abdessemed presents new works never shown in France, including the work of the exhibition: “The antidote”. The antidote is the name of the Lyon bar where the artist, then a student at ENSBA Lyon, meets Julie, his future wife, central figure of his work and his life. Recall of the personal adventure of an artist who perceives art as a vital experience, of self-salvation and of the world; for this antidote could also be that of art in the face of the brutality of the present. The exhibition expresses many of the dominant themes of his work (self-portrait, family life, animal life, representations of violence).
